Siddharth P. Malhotra says he looks out for characters whose sacrifices make communities stronger

Mumbai, July 10 (IANS) Director Siddharth P. Malhotra says as a filmmaker he tries to tell soul-stirring human stories and that he has always been on the lookout for strong protagonists.

The filmmaker’s latest features Junaid Khan in his debut role alongside Jaideep Ahlawat, Shalini Pandey, and Sharvari (in a special appearance), the film was released on June 21.

“As a filmmaker, I have tried to tell soul-stirring human stories with my last two films ‘Maharaj’ and ‘Hichki’. It feels incredible that both these films about human perseverance have become huge global hits coming from India!” Malhotra said.

He added: “I have always been on the lookout for strong protagonists who leave an unforgettable mark on society and sacrifice a lot to better our community.”

Talking about ‘Maharaj’ and Junaid’s character of Karsandas, he said: “Karsandas (played by Junaid) and Naina Mathur (played by Rani) have that in common and I respect both these characters immensely. People who fight against all odds are those who we need in society.”

Siddharth is deeply thankful to the global audience for showing so much love for ‘Maharaj’.

“A film through which we tried to honour a great social reformer of India, Karsandas Mulji. His story needed to be told and it looks like the world is paying him a salute,” he said.

Siddharth added that it is incredible that both his films with YRF, ‘Hichki’, and ‘Maharaj’ have been global hits.

“At a time when projects from across the world are winning hearts, I’m proud that India is also shining on the global content map with films like Maharaj becoming a huge hit,” he added.

Madhoo plays Pannaga in Vishnu Manchu-starrer ‘Kannappa’

Mumbai, July 29 (IANS) Actress Madhoo, who is known for ‘Roja’, ‘Ottayal Pattalam’, ‘Ennodishtam Koodamo’ and others, is set to essay the role of Pannaga in the upcoming pan-India film ‘Kannappa’.

The makers shared a poster featuring the actress on Monday. In the poster, she can be seen wielding a sword with a fierce look on her face while wearing ancient attire.

The makers wrote in the caption, “Presenting @madhoo_rockstar as #Pannaga; The chief of the clan with her fierce & dare-devil spirit she is a force to be reckoned with.”

The film also stars Vishnu Manchu, Mohan Babu, Mohanlal, Prabhas, Sharath Kumar, Kajal Agarwal, Akshay Kumar and Prabhas.

The teaser of the film was unveiled last month and boasts of many war sequences, and the use of primitive weapons as Vishnu Manchu’s titular character takes on a band of bandits who are on their way to destroy a village. It also gives a glimpse of Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar in the role of Lord Shiva.

This marks the 2nd film for Akshay Kumar in the role of Lord Shiva after the successful ‘OMG 2’ which was released last year.

The film is directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, and combines stunning visuals with a poignant narrative, bringing to life the legendary tale of devotion and sacrifice. It has been shot across New Zealand, and stars a slew of talented artists from across the film industries of India.

The film is based on the story of the legendary Kannappa, who is known as one of the greatest bhakts of Lord Shiva ever.

Mumbai, July 29 (IANS) Actress Tejasswi Prakash, who was recently on a vacation to Europe with her beau Karan Kundrra, has dropped another picture of herself, wandering on the streets of London.

The winner of ‘Bigg Boss 15’, Tejasswi, who has 7.5 million followers on Instagram, dropped a picture from the Marylebone station, which is a Central London railway terminus and connects the London Underground station in the Marylebone area of the City of Westminster.

The snap shows Tejasswi wearing a tube pink checkered top, and matching frill skirt. The outfit is rounded off with black boots. She is candidly posing, looking away from the lenses.

She has captioned the post: “Happiness doesn’t just happen it’s created.”

Her boyfriend Karan commented on the post and said: “Hor kinna kiss karaaan teinu.” She replied to it saying, “Karan where do I hide my face???? Please suggest in comments…Thank you.”

In another comment, Karan wrote: “Pics don’t just happen they get clicked…thank you”. To this, the ‘Naagin 6’ actress said: “Karan all picture courtesy in London is my very own personal chica,” followed by a red heart emoji.

Tejasswi and Karan are in a romantic relationship since they participated in the reality show ‘Bigg Boss 15’.

On the work front, Tejasswi began her acting career in 2012, with the thriller show ‘2612’, essaying the role of Rashmi Bhargava. In 2013, she portrayed Dhara Vaishnav in the show ‘Sanskaar – Dharohar Apnon Ki’ alongside Jay Soni.

She then starred in soap operas like– ‘Swaragini – Jodein Rishton Ke Sur’, ‘Pehredaar Piya Ki’, ‘Rishta Likhenge Hum Naya’, ‘Karn Sangini’, ‘Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka 2’.

Mumbai, July 29 (IANS) The makers of the upcoming Prabhas-starrer movie ‘The Raja Saab’ unveiled the first glimpse of the film on Monday.

The special video showcases Prabhas in a dashing avatar and brings back his vintage energetic charm. It opens with Prabhas making an entry on a bike to an aesthetic vintage location. He then steps down from his bike, holding a bouquet of sunflowers and admiring himself in the bike mirror before putting the flowers on himself.

The video also revealed that the film has booked its release for April 10, 2025. Currently, 40 per cent of the film’s shoot is completed, and another massive schedule is set to commence on August 2.

The film features music by composer S.S. Thaman, with Ram Laxman Masters and King Solomon handling the fight choreography, guaranteeing whistle-worthy moments on the big screen. Baahubali fame Kamalakannan R.C. is in charge of the VFX, ensuring a visual spectacle is delivered on the big screen.

Meanwhile, Prabhas was recently seen in ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ which has emerged as the biggest hit of 2024. The film, which blends science fiction and mythology, also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani. It is inspired by Hindu scriptures. The film has collected Rs. 1024.55 crore at the global box office.

Mumbai, July 29 (IANS) Actor Siddhant Chaturvedi, who was recently seen in the streaming movie ‘Kho Gaye hum Kahan’, has shared what he likes to eat while rummaging through the pages during his reading time.

The actor recently took to the Stories section of his Instagram and shared a picture in which one can see a plate of fruit bowl.

The picture shows two books in the frame, Sid’s cell phone, a coffee mug and a fruit bowl that has oats, dragon fruit and a mixture of nuts.

The other unread book in the frame is titled, ‘Why choose this book?”

Earlier, the actor took to Instagram Stories and shared a picture of the Bihari delicacy Litti Chokha. His brass thali also showed raw onions, green chillies and chutney in the condiments. The actor used the superhit track, ‘Aye Raja Ji’ to lend an authentic touch to the frame.

The song is sung by the superstar of Bihari cinema, Manoj Tiwari, and belongs to the cult streaming series ‘Panchayat’.

On the work front, Sid will be next seen in the upcoming film ‘Dhadak 2’ opposite ‘Animal’ star Triptii Dimri. The film is touted to be a sequel to the 2018 film ‘Dhadak’ which marked the Bollywood debut of Janhvi Kapoor.

‘Dhadak’ was the Hindi adaptation of the blockbuster Marathi movie ‘Sairat’ directed by Nagraj Manjule.
