KJo describes 'Kal Ho Na Ho' title track as immortal melody about hope, love, loss

Hyderabad, May 8 (IANS) Bollywood producer-director Karan Johar, who last directed ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’, took a stroll down memory lane with regard to one of the iconic songs of Hindi cinema, the title track of ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’.

On Wednesday, KJo took to his Instagram and shared a video comprising of different scenes from films belonging to his production. The title track of ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ plays in the background.

KJo expressed his gratitude to the veteran lyrics and screenwriter Javed Akhtar, singer Sonu Nigam and the composers Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy.

He wrote in the caption: “A song in the @dharmamovies repertoire that will always be so personal to me for so many reasons. Will always be eternally grateful to Javed sahab SEL and Sonu for giving us this immortal melody.”

He further mentioned: “A song that is about hope… love… and loss… As much a song for a broken heart as it is for hopeful romance. The inherent quality of this song to transcend a gamut of emotions makes it the ‘go to’ audio soothing support. Emotions are universal and here are some moments from our movies that hopefully have struck a chord.”

Mumbai, July 30 (IANS) Veteran Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan, has made another unintentional error in his social media post.

The senior actor recently shared a video on his Instagram citing a clip from his film ‘Agneepath’, and juxtaposed it with a more recent video of himself running away from the camera. The actor meant that hustle is eternal and even at such an age, he is actively running around for his work given his passion for cinema.

All looked good until some of his fans commented that the first clip in the video was not from ‘Agneepath’ but ‘Akayla’.

The senior actor soon corrected himself as he admitted being wrong about the film. Taking to the Stories section of his Instagram, the actor wrote, “Apologies … that picture I posted of running saying from Agneepath .. wrong! It’s from AKAYLA thank you well-wishers”.

‘Agneepath’ is considered one of the most iconic films of Big B. The film tells the story of the lead character, who sets out to avenge the death of his father and the injustices done to his family by joining the Mumbai underworld.

Big B had to dub twice for the film because earlier his voice wasn’t working out for the character. The film was later remade into the Hrithik Roshan-starrer ‘Agneepath’.

It also starred Sanjay Dutt, Rishi Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Kanika Tiwari, Om Puri and Zarina Wahab in lead roles. Katrina Kaif also starred in a special appearance in the chartbuster track ‘Chikni Chameli’.

Mumbai, July 30 (IANS) Actress Tamannah Bhatia, who recently celebrated her 34th birthday, has lauded the background dancers of her recent hit song ‘Aaj Ki Raat’ from the upcoming Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-starrer ‘Stree 2’, and expressed her gratitude to them.

The actress recently took to the Stories section of her Instagram and shared a BTS picture from the song’s shoot. In the caption, she wrote, “All the boys shot this song relentlessly, commendable. Shooting this bare-chested in 4 degrees, had been nothing less than an extreme sport.”

The actress and the dancers shot for the song in a blistering cold on the occasion of her birthday.

The song, which is a special number from ‘Stree 2’, has been crooned by Madhubanti Bagchi and composed by the dynamic duo Sachin-Jigar. It is choreographed by Vijay Ganguly.

‘Stree 2’, which also stars a volley of terrific actors like Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee, is set to release in theatres on August 15, on the occasion of Independence Day. It will clash with the Ram Pothineni-starrer ‘Double iSmart’, and the multi-starrer movie ‘Khel Khel Mein’.

Mumbai, July 29 (IANS) Actress Madhoo, who is known for ‘Roja’, ‘Ottayal Pattalam’, ‘Ennodishtam Koodamo’ and others, is set to essay the role of Pannaga in the upcoming pan-India film ‘Kannappa’.

The makers shared a poster featuring the actress on Monday. In the poster, she can be seen wielding a sword with a fierce look on her face while wearing ancient attire.

The makers wrote in the caption, “Presenting @madhoo_rockstar as #Pannaga; The chief of the clan with her fierce & dare-devil spirit she is a force to be reckoned with.”

The film also stars Vishnu Manchu, Mohan Babu, Mohanlal, Prabhas, Sharath Kumar, Kajal Agarwal, Akshay Kumar and Prabhas.

The teaser of the film was unveiled last month and boasts of many war sequences, and the use of primitive weapons as Vishnu Manchu’s titular character takes on a band of bandits who are on their way to destroy a village. It also gives a glimpse of Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar in the role of Lord Shiva.

This marks the 2nd film for Akshay Kumar in the role of Lord Shiva after the successful ‘OMG 2’ which was released last year.

The film is based on the story of the legendary Kannappa, who is known as one of the greatest bhakts of Lord Shiva ever.

The winner of ‘Bigg Boss 15’, Tejasswi, who has 7.5 million followers on Instagram, dropped a picture from the Marylebone station, which is a Central London railway terminus and connects the London Underground station in the Marylebone area of the City of Westminster.

The snap shows Tejasswi wearing a tube pink checkered top, and matching frill skirt. The outfit is rounded off with black boots. She is candidly posing, looking away from the lenses.

She has captioned the post: “Happiness doesn’t just happen it’s created.”

Her boyfriend Karan commented on the post and said: “Hor kinna kiss karaaan teinu.” She replied to it saying, “Karan where do I hide my face???? Please suggest in comments…Thank you.”

In another comment, Karan wrote: “Pics don’t just happen they get clicked…thank you”. To this, the ‘Naagin 6’ actress said: “Karan all picture courtesy in London is my very own personal chica,” followed by a red heart emoji.

Tejasswi and Karan are in a romantic relationship since they participated in the reality show ‘Bigg Boss 15’.

On the work front, Tejasswi began her acting career in 2012, with the thriller show ‘2612’, essaying the role of Rashmi Bhargava. In 2013, she portrayed Dhara Vaishnav in the show ‘Sanskaar – Dharohar Apnon Ki’ alongside Jay Soni.

She then starred in soap operas like– ‘Swaragini – Jodein Rishton Ke Sur’, ‘Pehredaar Piya Ki’, ‘Rishta Likhenge Hum Naya’, ‘Karn Sangini’, ‘Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka 2’.
