Michael Keaton gushes about working with Jenna Ortega in 'Beetlejuice' sequel

Los Angeles, March 17 (IANS) Hollywood actor Michael Keaton has heaped praise on actress Jenna Ortega.

The actor recently spoke about returning for the sequel to 1988’s ‘Beetlejuice’, appropriately titled ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’.

When asked what it was like working alongside Ortega, 21 — his new castmate, who stars as the daughter of Winona Ryder’s character, Lydia Deetz — Keaton couldn’t help but gush, reports ‘People’ magazine.

The actor told Entertainment Tonight, “Oh man, she’s good, she’s just got it, you know? She’s got the tone.”

Keaton said: “She showed up and just immediately knew what the tone was and just slipped in like she does every day. She’s really special.”

As per ‘People’, Tim Burton is directing the sequel to ‘Beetlejuice’, while Brad Pitt’s company, Plan B, is producing. Along with Keaton and Ryder, 52, one other star, who is returning for the follow-up film includes Catherine O’Hara, who played Lydia’s mother, Delia.

Willem Dafoe is also a part of the cast and is believed to be playing a law enforcement officer in the afterlife, as per The Hollywood Reporter, while Justin Theroux is also set to be in ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’, though his role is yet to be revealed.

Monica Bellucci, who is rumoured to be dating Burton, is also among the new cast members in the sequel.

The ‘Mafia Mamma’ star is set to play Beetlejuice’s wife.

Mumbai, July 31 (IANS) Actress Shamita Shetty, who was last seen in the film’The Tenant’, is relishing the local cuisine of Uttarakhand.

The actress recently took to her Instagram, and shared a video of herself in a hotel room trying the flavours of the northern state.

In the video, she can be seen sitting on a couch with a big thaali spread out in front of her.

She said in the video, “My most favourite part (of a trip) is trying local cuisine. I’m Dehradun, and the chef has made this delectable thaali with a lot of love.”

The actress could be seen indulging in jakhiya rice, hemp paneer, kumaoni raita, kheer made from red rice, and rotis made from ragi.

She told her followers in the video, “I can tell you how simple and tasty this is. I don’t eat mutton but I can surely try the gravy. The food is not oily and doesn’t have a lot of spices yet it is filled with flavours.”

She wrote in the caption, “Indulging in the delectable flavours of a traditional thali. Thank you Chef Kadir for preparing this feast.”

Shamita, who made her debut with the romantic drama, ‘Mohabbatein’, is the younger sister of actress Shilpa Shetty.

She also participated in the reality show ‘Bigg Boss 15’, and finished at fourth place.

Her recent film ‘The Tenant’ saw her essaying the titular role of an attractive and bold woman, Meera, moves into a middle-class housing society.

Mumbai, July 31 (IANS) Actor Shahid Kapoor’s wife Mira Rajput Kapoor, who is holidaying in Europe with her family, has shared another glimpse from her vacation diary.

Taking to Instagram Stories, Mira, who has 4.8 million followers on the photo sharing application, dropped a picture of herself resting by the beachside.

The selfie features her wearing a purple bikini, a beach hat, and oval framed sunglasses.

She captioned it as: “Don’t wanna leave the beach.”

On July 30, Mira had shared a video attending the musical concert of American singer Taylor Swift, along with her daughter Misha, in Munich, Germany.

Mira and Shahid had tied the knot in July 2015.

The couple have two kids — daughter Misha, and son Zain.

On the professional front, Shahid made his debut with 2003 romantic comedy film ‘Ishq Vishk’, directed by Ken Ghosh.

The film also starred Amrita Rao and Shenaz Treasurywala.

He then went on to star in movies like ‘Fida’, ‘Dil Maange More’, ’36 China Town’, ‘Vivah’, ‘Jab We Met’, ‘Kismat Konnection’, ‘Kaminey’, ‘Phata Poster Nikhla Hero’, ‘Haider’, ‘Padmaavat’, ‘Kabir Singh’, ‘Jersey’, among others.

Dressed in his Wolverine costume, Jackman shared a reel video, where he is seen scratching a card with two million pounds written on it.

For the caption, he wrote: “I can’t remember the exact reason why I started giving out Scratchy’s on Fridays. Maybe it’s because I wanted the cool kids to like me … or maybe it’s because I wanted to make sure I said hello to each and every one of the people that work tirelessly to make the films.”

“All of the humans whose names you see during the credit roll … they are the unsung heroes of film-making. And to this day, Scrathy Fridays continue. I love it. I love all of these people. I love the whole of us. #deadpoolandwolverine,” he added.

Mumbai, July 31 (IANS) Actor Sidharth Malhotra has penned a romantic note for his wife and actress Kiara Advani, who is celebrating her 33rd birthday on Wednesday, calling her the ‘kindest soul’.

The ‘Student of the Year’ actor took to Instagram, and shared a happy picture of the birthday girl. The photo features Kiara, who is wearing a white dress, and is standing close to balloon decorations, which reads: “We love you.”

Sidharth wrote in the caption: “Happy birthday love, the pic says it all. You’re the kindest soul I know, here is to many more memories together.”

He gave the music of the track ‘Ranjha’ sung by B Praak, Jasleen Royal, and Romy to his post.

The song is from the 2021 biographical war film ‘Shershaah’, which was based on the life of Vikram Batra. The film features Sidharth in the lead, with Kiara as his lover Dimple Cheema.

The lovebirds tied the knot on February 7, 2023, in Jaisalmer in a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony.

Kiara next has Telugu political action thriller ‘Game Changer’, directed by S. Shankar and produced by Sri Venkateswara Creations. The film stars Ram Charan in a triple role.

She also has ‘War 2’ in the kitty.

On the other hand, Sidharth was last seen in the action thriller ‘Yodha’, directed by Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha.

He also starred in the action thriller series ‘Indian Police Force’, created and directed by Rohit Shetty and Sushwanth Prakash.

Srinagar, July 31 (IANS) Following the improvement in the overall situation in J&K, Srinagar city is all set to host the ‘Film Conclave 2024’ which will include acclaimed Bollywood directors and filmmakers.

‘Jammu and Kashmir Film Conclave 2024’ is being kicked off on August 1 at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) on the banks of the famous Dal Lake.

Noted directors including Madhur Bhandarkar, Rahhat Kazmi, Karan Johar, Parag Mehta, and Mir Sarwar accompanied by acclaimed actors will participate in the conclave.

Their visit is expected to help Kashmir regain its glory in film and documentary making it had before the beginning of violence.

L-G Manoj Sinha will inaugurate the film conclave and will also launch the single window portal for film shooting permission and film subsidy.

This initiative is set to “revolutionise” filmmaking in Jammu and Kashmir by streamlining processes and providing much-needed subsidies to filmmakers.

Film personalities like Rahhat Kazmi, Paragg Mehta and Mir Sarwar will lead insightful panel discussions. Film enthusiasts can also participate in hands-on workshops, gaining practical knowledge from industry veterans.

Inaugurating the J&K Film Screening Series and the Frames of Transformation Photography Competition, the conclave underscores the region’s commitment to fostering artistic expression and celebrating visual storytelling.
